Ready for a Comeback? 50+ Companies Offering Returnships for Career Rebooters

How do you regain your place in the workforce after years of being away? Returnships. It’s the newest thing to help women and men ‘get back at it’ after being out of work for months if not years.

Maybe you spent time at home caregiving, served in the military, took your own “gap year,” or were laid off, started a company, but decided to go back to work for someone. Returnships give you the opportunity to sharpen your business acumen, get more skills on your resume, and, simply put, refresh your network.

Typically, a paid program, you can relaunch your career or start anew, heading back to work as an intern, and no matter the title, it's the latest thing. Companies are recognizing a gap and wanting to do more to fill it by helping people find their next career. Think of it as an opportunity to “try on” a new career while making the connections needed to pave a path for exciting adventures in "careering".

And recently, we discussed with Ginny Brzezinski, co-author of the book, "Comeback Careers: Rethink, Refresh, Reinvent Your Success--At 40, 50, and Beyond." If you or someone you know is having a hard time with imposter syndrome, landing a job, or swiveling careers at 40 and beyond, hang in there. Your time is coming.
